Finding the right dentist is an important decision for you and your family. Whether you’ve recently moved to the Northwoods or are considering a change, choosing a family dentist in Eagle River, WI, means looking beyond the closest office. You want a team you trust, services that fit your needs, and a place where you feel comfortable asking questions.
Here are a few things worth considering as you look for your next dental home.
1. What Should You Look for in a Family Dentist?
Great dental care starts with relationships. Your family’s needs can change over time, from a child’s early visits to routine preventive care and restorative treatment later in life. A practice that gets to know your dental history and personal concerns can help make those transitions easier.
At Legacy Family Dental, we believe dentistry is personal. We value the familiarity and trust that come from caring for Northwoods families over time, while tailoring recommendations to each patient.
2. Look for Services That Can Grow with Your Needs
Think beyond your next cleaning. Preventive care, restorative treatment, cosmetic options, pediatric care, and comfort-focused services may all matter at different points in life. A broad range of options can make it easier to discuss care with a team that already knows you.
Legacy Family Dental offers a variety of dental treatments, including dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, sedation options, and CEREC same-day crowns. For many eligible patients, same-day crowns can reduce the need for multiple visits. Your dentist can help determine which treatments are appropriate for your situation.

3. Pay Attention to Comfort and Communication
A good dental team should welcome questions, explain recommendations clearly, and listen to concerns without making you feel rushed. That matters whether you’re nervous about treatment, returning after time away from dental care, or simply deciding between options.
Dr. Brad Camp, Dr. Bree Highstrom, and the Legacy team strive to make patients feel heard, respected, and informed. Dental care is easier to approach when you understand what to expect and feel involved in the decisions.

4. Consider Location and Convenience
A conveniently located dental office and flexible appointment options can make it easier to prioritize your oral health. Legacy Family Dental is located at 619 E. Wall Street in Eagle River and serves patients from surrounding Northwoods communities, including St. Germain, Three Lakes, Conover, Phelps, Land O’ Lakes, and beyond.
Convenience goes beyond location. Early morning appointments beginning at 7 a.m. can make it easier to fit dental care into your busy schedule. And when you're looking for a new dentist, being able to schedule a comprehensive exam within the next month, rather than waiting six months or longer, can make a meaningful difference.
As you compare practices, consider how easily you can access the care you need, from scheduling your first visit to maintaining regular dental appointments.

5. Get to Know Legacy Family Dental
Legacy Family Dental combines the personal attention of a hometown practice with modern, comprehensive dental care. Formerly known as Beattie Family Dental, the practice continues its long-standing tradition of caring for Northwoods families under the ownership of Dr. Brad Camp, alongside Dr. Bree Highstrom and their dedicated team.
Born and raised in St. Germain, Dr. Camp graduated from Northland Pines High School and now enjoys raising his three young boys with his wife, Mary, in the same community they grew up in. Dr. Highstrom brings a unique background to the practice, having served as a dentist in the U.S. Army Dental Corps, including active-duty service caring for soldiers. Today, she and her husband, Greg, are raising their two daughters in the Eagle River area, where they're excited to be closer to family and put down roots in the Northwoods.
As parents themselves, both doctors understand the importance of creating positive dental experiences for children and building relationships families can trust. While the practice's name has changed, its commitment to personalized, compassionate care continues.
